Jitender Singh & Ms. Stephanie
The final day began with two very wonderful and intriguing guests Mr. Jitender, an author/publisher and a psychologist from the University of Idaho, USA, and Ms. Stephanie, an Instructional Coach and Curriculum specialist. Mr. Jitender told that students need to clear SAT(Scholastic Aptitude Test) if they wish to take admission to an American College. It is a standardized test to evaluate students’ college-specific skills. English and Mathematics are the major skills required to clear this exam. Aspirants must not rely on memorizing concepts and will be able to qualify for this test only by practice. For the Mathematics section, the speed of reaching an answer i.e. how fast one can reach an answer is more important than the whole working of it. The ability to think quickly and aptly comes in handy in solving quant questions. Alternately, students can appear for PSAT before appearing for SAT. PSAT is a practice test that prepares the candidate psychologically for the actual test.
He further informed that to pursue Psychology as a career in the USA, the aspirant must attain a Bachelor's degree, then a Master’s degree, and finally Ph.D. Stephanie, his better half advised the students to set goals, plan in time, prepare a checklist and find a comfortable and quiet place of study where they can stay focused. Digital planners must be replaced with physical planners.
In the Valedictory Session, Mr. Vaibhav Pandey& Mr. Anshul Vashisht summed up the events of all previous days. Honorable chairperson Dr. Geetika Balutia elaborated that the objective of this conclave comprising a variety of professionals was to give exposure to our students about the newly emerging areas of study and how they would need a variety of skills from communication to aptitude to general awareness to co-curricular to excel in whatever they choose, academics being the most significant of all.
The conference also marked the presence of alumni of IPS, Ms. Ayushi Balutia, an aspiring Economist who gave a detailed insight into the procedure one needs to follow if they wish to pursue studies abroad. She explained in detail the percentages and scores required to qualify for exams like IELTS, SAT to study in UK, Canada, or the USA.
Around 400 students from class IX to XII, the entire staff of Inspiration Public School attended the conclave.
According to students all the speakers were very good.They got to know about many areas of study, got tips to enhance their skills and abilities along with exposing them to various options of career. Students were inspired to be more aware. They resolved to improve their reading and communications skills, be more focused and manage their time effectively.
As stated by teachers, such events should be organized in future too for the students as anything that benefits our dear students must be valued!
